Comfort of the Eyes

'O Our Lord', grant us from our wives and offspring, the comfort of our eyes, and make us the leaders of the pious. (25:74)

As of two days, the author of this blog is married.  This was not what he had in mind at all.

Mabrrrrooooook! FINALLY DUDE! I mean, the announcement part, not the marriage part (okay, maybe that too, alhamdulillah!).

May Allah bless your union, and make it a source of benefit for you, your family and the entire Ummah.

    Salaams to the missus!

    MABROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK!
I was dying to know when we'd be reading this post, 'cuz I remember you slipping up in an MM comment and saying something about your engagement :D

BarakAllahu lakumaa, wa baaraka 'alaykumaa, wa jam'a baynakummaa fee khair, ameen!

    :D :D :D

Is the missus a blogger too? Are we going to start seeing relevant opinions as well as irrelevant ones? :D

  16. Salaams all,

JazakAllah-khair to everyone for your well-wishes. I just returned to Canada last night after a wonderful trip through the Mediterranean, highlights of which will be shared here insha-Allah.

Those of you who are relatives (i.e. Saira, Ameera), expect pics soon enough. I have a few thousand pictures and videos (thanks Nauman for the video camera!!) to sort through, so it will take some time.

    Wa salam,
    Faraz

  17. iMuslim: What do you mean, by "finally!" for the announcement ... it wasn't even 48 hours after the wedding that I blogged! I'd consider that pretty responsive considering how busy I was.

    Ameen to your du'as!

Ammena: Alhamdulillah, everything did go smoothly. Thanks for the well-wishes.

Hafsa: I found a few minutes before the walimah to blog two lines ... I figured that if I didn't do it then, it would have been a couple of weeks before I could post something.

    Organica: JazakAllah-khair!

Farzeen: Ameen to the du'as! I've been smiling for quite some time now, hopefully it will keep up a while longer!

Saira: I'll send pics soon, insha-Allah.

Yusuf: Was I in the way? I'm sorry...

    Ameen to the du'as!

Asmaa: JazakAllah-khair! May Allah grant you ease.

AnonyMouse: I was looking over MM to see where I slipped up, as I had generally been pretty discrete about things especially on-line ... I think I found the post that gave it away, here. Oops! Oh well.

I get asked often whether it's another blogger! Anyhow, she isn't a blogger, nor do I ever expect her to be - writing is admittedly not really her forte.

    hfm: Thank you!

Ameera: JazakAllah-khair for all your help in the preparations! Things couldn't have gone so smoothly without the contributions from you and your mom!

ms: Yeah, I'm still getting used to using the plural. It's no longer "my" camera, it's "our" camera. I get reminded a lot...

mummyjaan: JazakAllah-khair! I suppose Mrs. Faraz sounds better than Mrs. Irrelevant Opinions, which is what some people have called her!

    Anonymous: Thanks for the comment!

    Faraz: Hey, that's me!

    'liya: Thanks!
