Photos: Easter Weekend

In the absence of relevant content, here are some photos from this past weekend. I think I tried to go for some artistic effects that I've seen done really well on Flickr, but in the absence of a tripod, and working with Shan's digital camera that ran out of batteries every ten minutes, the results aren't great.

Here are a few of them, anyway.

  1. i like the last one, it looks like you took it standing upside down. but its just the picture that's upside down.

the night shots - pure genius man.

  2. Yeah, that camera is becoming annoying. I'm happy that my phone has a 2.0 megapixel camera so it tends to be useful for taking the odd picture now and then. :)

  4. Assalam-o-alaikum.

I really like the flower pics... good resolution.

It seems you two had a really good weekend - it's always great to get out and about, especially when you find great views.

SubhanAllah. I love those white flowers with the night sky at back.. tranquil describes it best. My Mom actually makes those flowers out of icing.

  9. Maryam: I think my cousin took that last shot; it came out quite nicely.

As for the night shots, I really like the effect of the headlights with the prolonged exposure, but without a tripod it's bound to turn out a bit blurry. Otherwise, these could have been much cooler. I have a whole bunch of additional shots like this with the lights of downtown in the background, but my unsteady hand has rendered the entire thing into an incoherent blur.

Nauman: Insha-Allah, whenever you want me to fly out west, I'll bring one of our cameras from home instead of using yours. It was quite annoying, I must say.

iMuslim: Wa'alaykum assalam wa rahmatullah. The daffodils shot came out nicely, but unfortunately we didn't have the camera set to the right resolution for that one. Oh, and jazakAllah-khair for having nothing else to say. :)

Ameera: Wa'alaykum assalam. It was a good weekend, alhamdolillah. There's no shortage of great views in this part of the country, subhanAllah.

Saira: I should put your modified picture of that image up ... it's much more vibrant that what we have here.

    Asmaa: Thank you.

Squeeky: Wa'alaykum assalam. Yes, there's so much beauty in nature; signs from Allah, no doubt.

Farzeen: Wa'alaykum assalam. That picture does express tranquility, but it was actually taken right next to a very busy road that we happened to spend two hours walking down aimlessly.

AnonyMouse: Don't cry. Though I think I'll be missing this place in a few weeks myself.
